Connor's New Bed

Well it's here...we now have Connor's "big boy bed", his crib. Tom and Carol Garber bought it for us and it arrived last Saturday. Unfortunately Connor didn't have his official first night in his crib until Friday, May 15th. Ryan had to work 1st shift all of last week so I thought that it would be best if we waited until the weekend to put him in his new bed. And all I have to say is that I think that I should've put him in there sooner. The first night Connor slept in his new bed, he slept for a solid 8 hours. We've been struggling with his sleep, and I think I was keeping him up at night by tossing and turning. It was hard for me that first night, not having him next to me, I couldn't get to sleep for an hour after I went to bed. He was definitely out growing the cradle that he had to sleep in so it was time for the up-grade. And no he looks so little in his crib. I know that he enjoys it though. I'm enclosing some pics of Connor in his cradle for the last time and also of him in his crib. I'm also enclosing pics of what the nursery looks like now that it's complete with the crib.

Love,
Vanessa, Ryan, and Connor

The crib with the complete look...matching bumper and bedspread.

Connor's new bed...with breathable bumper (he'll sleep w/that until he's 1, then we'll switch to the other bumper).

Mother's Day

Well yesterday was officially my first mother's day. And I loved it. My husband took me out to dinner on Saturday. And then on Sunday he bought me a beautiful bouquet of flowers. The Saturday before Mother's Day I took Connor to have his second set of 6 month photos taken at Sears, and since it was the day before Mother's Day they took a picture of the two of us together. So I thought that I would show you some of my Mother's Day photos with you. I hope all of my fellow mother's had a great Mother's Day as well. Connor is the best thing in my life and he is the best Mother's Day present a girl could ask for.

Love,

Vanessa

6 month photos

Well here they are as promised. Once again he did great. This time we went to two different places. We tried out Portrait Innovations down in Carmel and then we also went to Sears. And we have decided that Portrait Innovations is the way to go. Any way the first three pictures are from Portrait Innovations and the rest are from Sears. I hope you enjoy them all, I know I do.
Love,
Vanessa, Ryan, and Connor

Clarification

Hey everyone,

I've had a few people comment on my last post. Apparently I confused some people when I made the comment about Connor's development. No, there was never any concern about his development. It was just a comment that the doctor had made this last time at our visit. He was only saying that there is a lot of concern these days (in general) with autism in some young boys. And he just wanted us to know that we had nothing to worry about. From what he has observed Connor is right on track with everything, just like we've always thought. So I'm sorry if I freaked some people out, that was not my intention. Hope this clears some things up. Again I'm sorry for the confusion.

Love,
Vanessa
